This wall paneling is going on the walls of one of my clients booths. It is a thin, light weight product that you peel and stick on. The texture and originality of this product is sure to make my clients booth stand out! This is just one of the elements we are adding, I can't wait to see all the design come all together.
A lot of work goes into the design and production of a package, so to see the final product on the shelf looking amazing makes me proud. Not only does One Ocean make a great product, they are also a great company to work with! www.one-ocean.ca.
While I am used to Canadian packaging requirements, I also work on US packaging that has different rules and regulations. Often, clients will sell their food products in both Canada and the US which requires me to stay up to date on both. The US nutrition panels are changing and it is something to be aware of because even though you have a year to comply (2018) you should start thinking about updating your files if you are going to print more packaging soon. It is a new layout but it also requires additional nutrition info that wasn't required on the old panels. This might result in clients having to get new nutritional breakdowns from a lab.
Here are some details below. You will also find high-resolution examples of the new nutrition panels formats in this link.
The new US format will be implemented in 2018. Quoted from USFDA:
Manufacturers will need to use the new label by July 26, 2018. However, manufacturers with less than $10 million in annual food sales will have an additional year to comply.
We will be seeing some changes to the Canadian labels as well... details coming soon!
2017 is already looking good. After a week off, I am somewhat rested and looking forward to getting back to work! I took some time off to be with my family, to work on my design projects in my office and to do some tweaking to my website. I will admit that I am not very good at keeping my site up-to-date, just like everyone else I don't find I have enough time at the end of the day to add to it. Enough is enough, I have decided it is time for a blog, so I can add to my site as often as I can. I am going to keep it easy and the pictures are not going to be perfect, either is the writing... but that's ok! I encourage my clients to keep things simple and just to get it done, so I will take my advice in 2017 and do just that!
